Fresh Start Narrabeen offers you innovative and high quality Group Fitness Classes, with something for all areas of your fitness. Below are the class descriptions for classes in and out of Fresh Start. You will need a towel and water for all classes and Yoga/Pilates mats may also be required. Boxing gloves are required for all Boxing classes. If you forget, you may hire or purchase these items at Reception.
Classes concentrate on pad work in a circuit environment, mixed with other cardio exercises and plenty of push-ups. These classes are high intensity and are a fantastic way to tone quickly. You don’t need any experience, just come along. Gloves are required, but first timers can borrow gloves (inner gloves will be needed if you borrow ours). All of these can be purchased at Reception
This class offers a continuous cardio workout focusing on upper body and lower body exercise, using various equipment and training formats. A great training alternative.
CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program that treats the body as a unit. Every person who participates in CrossFit is treated like an athlete. Athletes must be fit for all different scenarios in life whether it be a specific sport or the sport of life. Each day a new work out is posted on our website for the day, these are know as Work Out of the Day (WODs). WODs are scaled to meet everyone’s fitness level and experience. This means if you are new to CrossFit you can compete and keep up with an elite CrossFitter. WODs are made up of many different disciplines, weightlifting, kettlebells, gymnastics, rowing, sprinting, jumping just to name a few. Using the revolutionary GRAVITY TRAINING SYSTEM, these classes aim to improve muscular and cardiovascular endurance, strength, balance, agility, core stability and body composition for any age or ability. Class sizes are limited so you will need to sign in at reception 15 mins before the scheduled start time.
This class incorporates the use of the Gravity machines as well as circuit based activities. The class runs for 1 hour and provides a medium to intense cardio and strength workout. A total body workout that is sure to please everyone.
45min class focusing on core control and stability. This class blends together standard Gravity exercises with Pilates influenced moves, resulting in a dynamic, effective and functional way to train the core and entire body. Great for anyone seeking a strong functional core. Class sizes are limited so you will need to sign in at reception 15 mins before the scheduled start time.
45min class taking gravity to a more intense and challenging level. Not for the faint hearted or first time participants. More advanced moves are incorporated into the routines resulting in a higher level of intensity and complexity. Great for all those looking to get more out of their gravity experience. This class focuses on spinal and joint alignment. Exercises are performed on all fours or lying on your front, side and back. All exercises focus on engaging the pelvic floor and working the deep abdominal muscles to effectively support the spine. Classes are suitable from beginners to advanced. You will need your own mat and towel. Suitable during pregnancy* but please advise the instructor as some exercises may need to be modified.
60min class incorporating the use of Swiss Balls, Gravity Machines, Bands and Weighted Balls, alongside rational Pilates mat exercises. This class allows participants the opportunity to challenge themselves resulting in great results and improved body awareness. Props provided by Fresh Start however, you will need a towel and your own yoga mat. Suitable during pregnancy* but please advise the instructor as some exercises may need to be modified.
A group exercise workout performed on our Keiser M3 Magnetic Spin bikes. The class offers a high intensity cardio workout combined with great music and plenty of motivation. Class sizes are limited so you will need to sign in at reception 15 mins before the scheduled start time.
These classes promote core stability, as the unstable surface of the Swiss Ball forces a reaction from your deep stability muscles. The ball will increase the intensity of the exercise and provide you with different feedback to a stable surface. Swiss Ball classes are suitable for beginners to advanced level students. We provide the balls, but you will need your own yoga mat and a towel. These can be purchased at reception. Suitable during pregnancy* but please advise the instructor as some exercises may need to be modified.
The Xtend Barre Workout is the premier ballet barre workout... Dance and Pilates Amplified. The Xtend Barre philosophy is simple. We teach a multi-level class geared to challenge bodies of any age, gender, or fitness background. We offer exercises that can be modified for beginners, prenatal clients or clients with injuries, but that can also be amplified for advanced clients that are looking for an extreme challenge.
The Xtend Barre system sculpts the body proportionally so that all body parts are equally challenged. This total body workout serves to strengthen, lengthen, and stretch the body from top to bottom, from inside out. The end result is a long and lean physique... without added bulk. Developed from a dance / Pilates background, the Xtend Barre workout combines the amazing results of dance with the principles of strength and safety in Pilates. Our X-training class provides a mix of different exercise from week to week covering all areas of fitness. May involve outdoor activities, weight circuits, spin, GRAVITY, aerobics or boxing.
Yoga is a direct experience of the vast interrelatedness of all life and of all things. You will feel at peace at the end of a yoga class because there is a natural realignment of your body which leads to a natural realignment of your perception of life and of who you are. You will need your own yoga mat and towel. These can be purchased at reception. Suitable during pregnancy* but please advise the instructor as some exercises may need to be modified.
